A Moment of Zen
At the beginning of tonight's class, Travis' karate instructor told the class to stretch by themselves while he returned a phone call in his office. When I peeked around the corner of the observation room this is what I saw...my son meditating!?!?!?!? Needless to say it made me giggle and I snapped a picture with my phone.
Then, as we left the karate studio, we noticed a rainbow that seemingly ended near our house! We chased it as far as we could--that pot o' gold would've been nice! But this is as far as we could go. It was so cool we took a picture with it in the background (over T's left shoulder) It was much brighter and more awesome in person, of course!

Last Day in the Sunflower Class
Today was Cole's last day of preschool for the year. Shayne and I were talking last night that it doesn't seem that long ago we were wondering if he would ever stop crying when I dropped him off...and now I'm afraid that he's going to be sad when he can't go next week. He's had a great year!
The moms of kids with summer birthdays chipped in and provided a pizza party for the class at lunchtime. Cole kept saying, "It's finally Happy Cole Day!" He got to wear his "3" birthday hat because his birthday is coming up...in a couple of months.

Karate Kid
Travis started karate lessons for the first time this afternoon. He is so proud of his uniform and white belt. Here he is in his best "kung fu" pose... I think he's a natural!

Sprinkler Park
It was 97 degrees here today. The weatherman said it was "unseasonably" hot...I think it was "unreasonably" hot! Cole and I hit the little sprinkler park with some friends this morning to cool off a bit.

End of the Season
Tball is winding down! Only one more game on Saturday and that'll be it for the spring season. Travis has really improved throughout the year and we've all had a lot of fun cheering on the Knights. Cole's enthusiasm for the game and his brother hasn't waned all season and I think he might miss it most of any of us.

Happy Mother's Day!
We celebrated Mother's Day at my Mom and Dad's new house. They have a beautiful back deck which was just perfect for picture taking after church!

Breakfast for Moms
Today Travis' Kindergarten class hosted a Mother's Day breakfast. It was very elegant--mini muffins, chopped fruit and an assortment of juices. As we were in line, Travis informed me that he would be serving me and proceeded to fill my plate for me.
Before we went, he told me there would be presents and something I would REALLY like! I got a bag of coupons that the teacher told them we could redeem ANY time and they have to do it. Among my favorites were "Clean my room" and "Pick up toys" I can't wait to use them!!!
We had to find our seat by identifying the portrait collage our child made of us. As you can see, Travis chose scrap fabric with James from Thomas the Train on it for my dress--a bold fashion choice--LOVE IT!
And of course, there was entertainment! The kids read "My mom is special because..." and then sang a couple of songs including You Are My Sunshine! Then the teacher read Love You Forever and of course, I cried. Travis is third from the right on the back row.

Kindergarten Circus
Travis and his classmates displayed what they've learned all year in art, music and PE in one circus themed performance tonight in the gym. Each student provided their own costume and came dressed as their favorite circus character. There were clowns, lions, monkeys, elephants, and trapeze artists to name a few! Travis chose to be a lion and I worked on his costume for two days. We were both pleased with how it turned out...

Mother's Day Tea
I got to attend a Mother's Day Tea at Cole's preschool this morning! There was beautiful artwork at my place setting including this card. Cole was so proud of all his creations, and had a great time hosting me at the "Mommy Tea Party."
The teachers let the kids pass out carnations to their Mommies. Cole was so pleased to present me with mine.
